Giving Your Coffee A Medicinal Boost

Nothing Touches The Soul Quite Like Cannabis and Coffee

The Current State of Coffee and Cannabis

If you are like me, Coffee is an essential part of my every morning routine. When I have a cup that smells of pure bitter, fruity, perfection I know it’s going to be a great day. I am somewhat of a Coffee whore you could say. I never stick to one bag for too long, always jumping from bean to bean to see which kind of coffee really hits the spot. I’ve had cups of coffee that give me a tweaky feeling and I’ve also had cups that seem to make me feel even more tired. My preference lies somewhere in the middle. The only downside to my love of coffee is the way it makes my tummy feel. This being said, I have had stomach issues my whole life and I usually take a CBD tincture in the morning for the pain and uncomfortable feeling I have when I wake up. Now, I know what you’re thinking, this person is going to tell me to just drop my tincture in my coffee and call it good. NO!

I’ve tried this and all it did was make my coffee taste “herbal” and it weakens the strength of the tincture by putting it in more liquid. If you are in a pinch, or in a hurry, this may be your only option but its definitely not the best option, in my opinion. I just don’t feel right putting a $100 tincture into my coffee.

I know you have also seen “ CBD infused coffee”. This was something that I was stoked to get! I didn’t even mind paying $50 for the bag. ( double the price of most coffee I buy ) Let me tell you I have never been so disappointed in my life in a cup of coffee. This Peruvian CBD blend of coffee tasted of water and dirt. Shame on the lady who sold this to me. This was the last straw, I had to figure out a way to get some dang cannabinoids in my coffee. This had become a personal mission of mine.

Dalgona Coffee & Cannabinoids

It’s Magic

One day I came home from work and my significant other was watching a cooking show, and I had just picked up a syringe of 1:1 CBD:THC distillate for $40. During this cooking show the lady started talking about Dalgona Coffee. That’s when I knew this was going to be the perfect way to combine cannabinoids and coffee.

Dalgona Coffee is only 3 ingredients: Sugar, Instant Coffee Crystals, and Hot water. Put these 3 ingredients in a bowl and use a mixer to start to mix. Once you can tell the mixture is starting to firm up add in your desired amount of CBD or THC distillate and allow the mixer to mix in the distillate to the frothy coffee goodness.

Your end product will be a thick, frothy, coffee like Mousse. Now all you do is add your mixture to a cup of milk, stir, and enjoy!

I have found this to be the best way because I can very accurately dose my cup and the mixture is so sweet and bitter it totally covers up the taste of the distillate. I will put a link to a recipe for Dalgona Coffee below.
